The Metro CISM Team and Bloomington Police Department present:

 

Lt. Brian Murphy  "Never Give Up" -  Confronting the Active Shooter.

 

Lt. Brian Murphy was the first officer on scene of the Sikh Temple Shooting in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on August 5th, 2012. He was shot 15 times. Lt. Murphy will discuss his experience of the incident in detail showing actual footage and discussing what lessons he and his department learned. Lt. Murphy will also discuss personal preparation for deadly force encounters, the mindset to survive deadly force encounters and the impact these events have on one's own family.

 

Lt. Brian Murphy was voted the #1 speaker at the FBI National Academy. Murphy has been recognized twice by President Barack Obama: first, at the 2013 State of the Union and later, with the 2015 award of “Top Cop.”  This will be Lt. Murphy's first time presenting in Minnesota.
